Introduction: We are seeking an experienced Cribl Data Engineer to join our team. This is a fully remote position, ideal for individuals with 4-5 years of experience in data engineering and a strong focus on data security. The role will require hands-on expertise with OCSF (Open Cybersecurity Platform Framework) and managing data observability solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams and clients to design, implement, and optimize data pipelines, ensuring the security and integrity of data across various environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines for various environments with a strong focus on data security
- Provide consulting services on data observability solutions, including cloud and on-premise deployments
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure secure data routing, parsing, and pipeline management
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to data integration and security
- Develop and maintain security-focused content, including dashboards, threat detection logic, and data transformation configurations
- Work closely with both technical and business stakeholders to align on project goals and deliverables
- Serve as the technical point of contact for client engagements, offering guidance and troubleshooting support
- Ensure adherence to best practices in data security throughout the implementation process
- Support ongoing training and knowledge sharing with internal and client-facing teams
Qualifications:
- 4-5 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data security
- Hands-on experience with OCSF (Open Cybersecurity Platform Framework) for data integration and security
- Strong expertise in data routing, parsing, and pipeline management
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Solid understanding of data security practices and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ATT&CK, CIM Object Model)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed systems
- Strong background in networking and security best practices
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fully remote environment
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines in a remote setting
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with Cribl LogStream, Cribl App, or similar tools in the data observability space
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI, etc.) is a plus
- Certifications in relevant technologies (AWS, Azure, Cribl, etc.) are preferred
- Experience with security operations (SOAR) is a plus
- Knowledge of macOS, Windows, Linux/Unix operating systems
- Strong analytical skills to assess and mitigate data security risk
